50 Years of Friendship Fund
Celebrating SABAH's 50th Year!
As SABAH begins its 50th year, we proudly celebrate five decades of enriching the lives of individuals challenged by physical, cognitive, and/or emotional disability through adaptive recreation, fitness, and the development of social and communication skills.
What began as a an adaptive ice skating program during the winter months has grown into an organization serving more over 700 participants through seven programs on ice, turf, and in New York State Parks. Today, SABAH's programs include two School Day programs for children with special needs, four adaptive recreational programs for individuals of all ages, and a health and wellness program designed to meet the unique needs of adults challenged by disability.
Throughout these fifty years, one thing has remained constant: the friendships, confidence, independence, and sense of belonging that emerge when individuals are given the opportunity to participate, achieve, and thrive.
To honor this milestone and ensure that SABAH continues to grow, we are proud to establish the Fifty Years of Friendship Fund. This special anniversary initiative will provide critical support for existing programs while helping SABAH expand opportunities for individuals and families throughout our community. Recent additions such as adaptive floor hockey demonstrate both the growing demand for inclusive recreation and SABAH's commitment to meeting that need.
Gifts to the Fifty Years of Friendship Fund will help provide adaptive equipment, program resources, trained staff and volunteers, facility access, and the development of new recreational opportunities that enrich lives and strengthen our community.
